Shay was born in Detroit, Michigan, and later moved to the southside of Atlanta, blending her Midwestern and Southern roots to develop homemade recipes. Growing up, she fell in love with baking alongside her grandmother, who instilled in her a deep passion for creating delicious treats. Shay began her adulthood serving in the US Army, where she also became a wife. After retiring from the military and becoming a mom, she rekindled her old love for baking. Anticipating the arrival of her baby, she immersed herself in the world of custom cakes, falling in love with the art. This passion led to the creation of Moore Sweets.
